Miley Cyrus' new album Bangerz is coming next Tuesday, but she's getting fans hyped by hosting Saturday Night Live tonight. It's her second stint hosting the veteran show -- the first time was back in 2011. This time, though, she'll be the musical guest as well, joining an elite club of artists who've done both.
Of course, there's no end to what Saturday Night Live and Miley can do together this weekend. After all, there's already an ongoing sketch about her, The Miley Cyrus Show, featuring SNL castmember Vanessa Bayer as an air-headed Miley who constantly says "that's pretty cool." But on top of that, just poking fun at her MTV VMA performance and her nude "Wrecking Ball" video could take up half the show.
Miley's current feud with Sinead O'Connor -- who was banned herself from Saturday Night Live in 1992 for tearing up a picture of the Pope -- could also inspire some sketches.
Of course, some artists take themselves too seriously to really participate fully in Saturday Night Live sketches, but the show's Emmy-winning director Don Roy King doesn't think Miley's that kind of girl.
Asked backstage at the Emmys a couple of weeks ago what sort of job she'll do, King told reporters, "She hosted once before, in my seven years, and she was willing to do anything and she had a variety of characters. She was charming and sweet, and my guess is she will be so again." When asked if her appearance on the show would include twerking, he joked, "I hope so!"
