Bruce Springsteen apparently has confirmed reports that have been circulating around the Internet that he has plans to release a new song called "High Hopes" in the coming days. A message posted Monday on the Boss' official website, Facebook page and Twitter feed reads, simply, "Coming November 25," along with an image that appears to be the cover art for the single featuring a stylized photo of Springsteen, his name and the title "High Hopes."
Information about the song popped up on a few international music sellers' websites, including Sony Music's German site, which says the track will be available as a digital download on November 25.
"High Hopes" is a song written by Tim Scott McConnell, and recorded originally by McConnell's band The Havalinas. Springsteen first recorded a version for his hard-to-find 1996 EP Blood Brothers. Bruce and the E Street Band played the song frequently during their March 2013 tour of Australia.
