David Byrne will be taking part in a benefit concert to help raise money for those affected by Typhoon Haiyan, which ripped through the Philippines earlier this month.
The former Talking Heads frontman will be hitting the stage next week with the cast of Here Lies Love, a musical he wrote about former first lady of the Philippines Imelda Marcos that recently was staged at The Public Theater in New York City.
"We'll be doing a concert version of the show -- this won't be the same immersive, interactive experience as the theatrical version," says Byrne in a statement. "But we'll do EVERY song, in order, with the original cast and costumes -- plus I'll be helping out and singing as well. The show is wall-to-wall songs. If you didn't see or hear the production, now is your chance to hear it and at the same time to do something for the survivors in the Philippines. Wear comfortable shoes!"
The concert will take place this Monday, November 25, at Terminal 5 in New York City. Tickets for the show will run you $58 and are available now at Ticketmaster. All proceeds from the concert will go to support Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières' efforts in the Philippines.
