While his Bon Jovi bandmates are set to rock an arena full of fans in Toronto Saturday night, guitarist Richie Sambora has his own musical plans for the day.
Richie, who hasn't played with Bon Jovi since April because of "personal matters" which have never been revealed, will make a special appearance at the 2013 edition of the Breeder's Cup Classic championship horse race, taking place this Saturday at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California. Richie will perform the traditional "Call to the Post" on his electric guitar, marking the first time that the pre-race tune won't be played on the traditional bugle.
The New Jersey rocker's performance is scheduled to air at 7:20 p.m. ET on the NBC Sports Network. In addition, Sambora is among the stars who will entertain the crowds at Santa Anita Park earlier that same day as part of the inaugural Songs in the Saddle: The Infield Music Fest. The concert will run from 2:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. PT, and will feature a lineup that also includes Joan Osbourne, Macy Gray, Tony Braxton and Kristin Chenoweth.
