Kelly Clarkson's upcoming NBC special has quite an eclectic lineup of guests. Among them: Oscar-winner Robin Williams, and Star Trek's Captain Kirk himself, William Shatner.
The special, called Kelly Clarkson's Cautionary Christmas Music Tale, will air on NBC next month. The presence of Robin Williams is no surprise, since Kelly recently guest-starred on his CBS show The Crazy Ones. Shatner's presence is a bit of a mystery, but the other guests are equally eclectic: Heidi Klum, NASCAR star Danica Patrick, Matt Lauer, Jay Leno, Whoopi Goldberg, former Queer Eye for the Straight Guy star Jai Rodriguez and Ken Jeong of Community and the Hangover movies.
Of course, there will be some musical guests on the show, too. Kelly's buddy Blake Shelton will be there -- no surprise since her husband, Brandon Blackstock, is his manager. Also present will be Kelly's stepmother-in-law, Reba McEntire, and another famous country star, Trisha Yearwood. Both Reba and Trisha appear on Kelly's Christmas album, Wrapped in Red.
The special will be a comedic take on Dickens' A Christmas Carol, with Kelly learning the true meaning of Christmas, interspersed with performances of songs from Wrapped in Red. It airs December 11 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
