Eminem Back at #1, Gaga Drops, Daughtry Top 10; Big One Direction Debut Expected Next Week

Aftermath/Shady/InterscopeAfter being temporarily knocked out of the #1 spot by Lady Gaga's ARTPOP, Eminem's The Marshall Mathers LP 2 is back on top of the Billboard album chart.

ARTPOP, meanwhile, has slipped to #8, on a sales decrease of 82%. As Billboard notes, it's the third album this year to debut at #1 and then experience a sales decline of 80% or more: the others were Justin Timberlake's The 20/20 Experience -- 2 of 2, and Kanye West's Yeezus.

Meanwhile, the Hunger Games: Catching Fire soundtrack, featuring tracks from Lorde, Christina Aguilera, Coldplay, The Lumineers and others, debuts at #5.  The first Hunger Games soundtrack entered the chart at #1 in 2013, but then again, that disc featured two songs by Taylor Swift.

Daughtry's new album Baptized enters the chart at #6.  It's the band's fourth straight top-10 album.

Looking ahead to next week, One Direction's new album, Midnight Memories, is expected to sell around 500,000 copies in its first week, perhaps more, sources tell Billboard.  That will likely ensure the British boy band its third-straight #1 album, following Up All Night and Take Me Home. Those both reached #1 in 2012.
