Bruno Mars is a big star in his own right, but he's also scored a number of huge hits by collaborating with other artists. So perhaps it's no surprise that some of them may show up on February 2, when he headlines the Super Bowl halftime show.
Billboard reports that the NFL started working with Bruno and his management team around Thanksgiving to decide exactly which songs he'll perform during his allotted 12 minutes, and how they'll be staged. There's also mention of a "guest list." Or, as Sarah Moll of the NFL, who books all the halftime performers, tells the publication, "He's got a few calls to make."
Among the guests who might show up: B.o.B, who teamed with Bruno on the #1 hit "Nothin' on You"; Travie McCoy, who duetted with Bruno on the top-five single, "Billionaire"; and Cee Lo Green, whose signature tune "Forget You" was co-written and produced by Bruno. The singer's also hit the top 10 in collaboration with artists like Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa and Eminem. Of course, Bruno's got plenty of his own hits to perform as well, so the set list should be interesting.
Meanwhile, Bruno says he and his band are rehearsing and preparing for the possibility that they might have to perform in below-freezing conditions -- after all, we're talking about February in New Jersey. The Hawaii-born singer laughs, "Me and the cold don't really speak that often. And everyone is saying there's going to be a blizzard. So how do you rehearse for that? Go perform in meat lockers?"
