Former Cream singer/bassist Jack Bruce will return in the New Year with his first solo studio album in more than a decade. The record, which is titled Silver Rails, was recorded at London's famous Abbey Road Studios and is due out in March.
While few official details have been revealed about the album, a behind-the-scenes video showing footage from the sessions has been posted on Bruce's official YouTube channel. The black-and-white clip, which was produced by Jack's daughter Kyla Simone Bruce, shows the 70-year-old Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and several guest musicians laying down their parts.
Among the artists seen in the video are drummer Cindy Blackman Santana and Medeski, Martin & Wood keyboardist John Medeski. Both Blackman Santana -- who is married to Carlos Santana -- and Medeski recently played with Bruce and Living Colour guitarist Vernon Reid in the jazz fusion project Spectrum Road. That group released a self-titled album in June 2012.
Bruce's last solo studio effort, More Jack than God, was issued in September 2003.
