Director David Fincher to Helm Justin Timberlake's "Suit & Tie" Video; Justin Books Post-Grammys Gig
Justin Timberlake's best performance on film was, arguably, his role as Sean Parker in The Social Network. Now, the Oscar-nominated director of that film is re-teaming with JT to create the video for his new single, "Suit & Tie." David Fincher, who directed The Social Network, Fight Club and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, will be behind the camera for "Suit & Tie," reports IndieWire.com.
Fincher got his start in the music video biz, directing iconic clips like Madonna's "Express Yourself" and "Vogue," Aerosmith's "Jamie's Got a Gun," Paula Abdul's "Straight Up" and George Michael's "Freedom 90," among countless others. He hasn't done a video for seven years, but it stands to reason that he'd make an exception for his pal Justin.
There's no word on when the video will premiere or what its content will be, but one thing's for sure: it'll look great. Photos from the set feature Justin and Jay-Z both wearing tuxedos.
In other Justin news, he's apparently booked his first public concert since his return to music. He'll perform at the Hollywood Palladium on February 10 -- the same night as the Grammy Awards -- at 9 p.m. That seems to indicate he'll perform early on in the Grammy telecast -- he may even open the show -- and then pop over to the Palladium for the concert.
