Fantasia Gets Response from "JET" Magazine

Photo courtesy of JETDespite protests from Fantasia, JET magazine "stands by its decision" to use the photo of her that appears on the cover of its upcoming March 18 issue.  "JET magazine is honored to have Fantasia grace the cover of its March issue," the publication says in a statement, explaining that while Fantasia was included in the decision-making process, the magazine had final say.

The profile shot of Fantasia, which she wrote off as being "10 Years Old," shows her with minimal make-up and short hair.  The picture is quite a bit different from the ones that Fantasia's camp had suggested, which included images of her showing off a short black bob and reddish lipstick with a violet tinge.

"As standard editorial practice, JET consulted with Fantasia's team, but reserves the right to select the image we deem as most appropriate for JET's brand and reflective of the cover story sentiment," the magazine explains.

Inside the March 18 issue, Fantasia talks about moving forward with her career and personal life.  The singer is preparing to release her new album Side Effects of You later this year.

"JET continues to root for Fantasia's success and encourages her fans to pick up the new issue," the magazine writes.
