Lynyrd Skynyrd has had to postpone another concert as guitarist Gary Rossington tries to bounce back from an abdominal infection. The southern rock legends announced on their official Facebook page that their planned show this Saturday at Coushatta Casino Resort in Kinder, Louisiana, has been shelved.
The message reads, "Gary is doing well, but will be unable to perform this weekend while he recovers from his illness. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused the fans and promoters. Lynyrd Skynyrd looks forward to touring and performing in the near future." A post on the casino's website, meanwhile, reports that the guitarist has specifically been suffering from "a lower tract infection and a bout of pneumonia." It also reveals that the band already has scheduled a June 8 makeup date, with tickets for that show going on sale on April 19.
Rossington reportedly was hospitalized near his home in Jackson, Mississippi, last week, which forced the band to cancel its February 15 and 16 concerts at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi. The 61-year-old musician will have a few weeks to rest up before the next Skynyrd's next scheduled performance -- a March 15 show at the Congress Theatre in Chicago.
