Mindy McCready, whose life partner died last month, has had her two children taken from her. Her attorney tells E! News that the Department of Human Services took custody of the kids on Wednesday afternoon.
A source says, "Mindy needs to get help and we all care and love her and we want her to get the right help so she can move on. She is in a bad state right now, depressed and unhappy. It is not good."
E! News also reports that a judge on Wednesday ordered that McCready be committed to a treatment facility for up to 21 days for a mental health and alcohol abuse evaluation.
McCready has a nine-month-old son, Zayne, whose father was David Wilson. Wilson died January 13 after authorities responded to his Heber Springs, Arkansas, home on a report of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
McCready also has a six-year-old son, Zander, from her previous relationship with singer/songwriter Billy McKnight.
