Before the Grammy Awards get underway this weekend, Bruce Springsteen will be saluted as the Recording Academy's MusiCares Person of the Year tonight at a star-studded gala in Los Angeles. Many of music's biggest names, including Elton John, Jackson Browne and Sting, will be on hand at the Los Angeles Convention Center to honor The Boss by performing his songs.
In addition to those artists, Bruce also will get the tribute treatment from Neil Young, Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder, soul legend Mavis Staples, R&B singer John Legend and country stars Emmylou Harris, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, Zac Brown and Natalie Maines of The Dixie Chicks. The Daily Show's Jon Stewart, a huge fan of The Boss, will host the event, which takes place two days before the 55th Grammy Awards ceremony.
Proceeds from the MusiCares gala, which celebrates not only Bruce's artistic achievements but also his charity work, will go to help musicians and those in the music industry who need financial, medical or personal help.
