Heart Teaming Up with Jason Bonham for a Summer Tour That Will Feature a Led Zeppelin Tribute

Facebook.com/HeartRock fans who enjoyed the recent Kennedy Center Honors homage to Led Zeppelin featuring Heart's Ann and Nancy Wilson and sometime Zeppelin drummer Jason Bonham are in for a real treat this summer.  Heart will bring Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience tribute act on the road with them for a lengthy U.S. trek dubbed the Heartbreaker tour that's scheduled from a June 16 show in West Palm Beach, Florida, through an August 30 stop in Portland, Oregon.

Each concert will feature a 30-minute finale during which Heart and Jason will team up to play a set of classic Led Zeppelin tunes.

Heart singer Ann Wilson says of the tour, "Heart are thrilled to be playing with Jason and his band this summer.  Awesome rock 'n' roll music every night...miracles apt to happen any old time."  Heart guitarist Nancy Wilson adds, "It's not a tribute, as we have the blessings of the gods themselves."

The 2012 Kennedy Center Honors salute to Led Zeppelin culminated with a rousing rendition of "Stairway to Heaven" that featured the Wilson sisters, Bonham and other rock musicians accompanied by an orchestra and a choir.  The performance was later released as a digital download.

Looking back on the event, Bonham says, "What a great night it was for us at the Kennedy Center awards, and now to be able to do it again on the road with Ann and Nancy is such an honor for me."

The outing with Bonham is part of a busy and eventful year for Heart.  The band just kicked off a March Canadian tour leg that features opening act Simon Townshend, The Who's longtime touring guitarist.  Then, in early April, Heart has a handful of concerts mapped out in the Western U.S., which will be followed by the group's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Los Angeles on April 18.
