John Mellencamp will serve as the music entertainment at the latest edition of the annual Bob Costas Benefit, taking place April 20 at the Fox Theatre in St. Louis. The event raises funds for the Bob Costas Cancer Center, a day hospital housed at St. Louis' SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center that famed sportscaster Costas has supported for decades.
Mellencamp is expected to play a variety of his classic tunes during his set, such as "Pink Houses," "Jack and Diane," "R.O.C.K. in the USA" and "Small Town." The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer also participated in the 2004 edition of the show.
This year's event, which marks the benefit's 25th anniversary, also will feature stand-up comedy from Brian Regan and Joe Bolster. Tickets are priced from $35 to $95 and can be purchased now by calling 314-577-5605.
The Bob Costas Cancer Center provides a comfortable setting for children who are being treated for various forms of cancer and other illnesses.
