Rush will be welcomed into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 18, but a couple of weeks before that, the band's frontman, Geddy Lee, will get to enjoy another special honor. The longtime baseball aficionado will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Toronto Blue Jays' home opener this Tuesday at Rogers Centre.
The singer/bassist has long been a season ticket holder for his hometown Blue Jays, who will square off against the Cleveland Indians to start the 2013 season.
Lee and the rest of Rush will be in attendance at this year's Rock Hall ceremony, which will be held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles. The Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins will induct the Canadian power trio, who also are expected to perform at the event.
To warm up for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame bash, Rush will play an April 13 show at the Hard Rock Café in Las Vegas. Following the ceremony, the rockers will head out on a new leg of their Clockwork Angels Tour that begins April 23 in Austin, Texas. Visit Rush's official Facebook page to check out all of the group's upcoming shows.
