Thursday night in Newark, New Jersey, Taylor Swift continued her tradition of bringing special guests onstage during her concerts: she welcomed Tyler Glenn, lead singer of Neon Trees, for a duet.
Usually, Taylor brings out a special musical guest who's local to the city in which she's performing, but in this case, that didn't apply: Neon Trees are from Utah. Still, the audience went wild when she introduced Tyler, and the two performed the band's hit "Everybody Talks." Via Twitter, Taylor has promised more surprises for Friday night's Newark show.
Afterwards, Tyler posted a photo of him and Taylor onstage, and wrote, "So this just happened, my friend Taylor, flew me up to Jersey tonight to sing 'Everybody Talks' with her on her Red tour.. how could I say no??"
So, how much should we read into the fact that Taylor wanted to perform a song which is partly about the dangers of gossip?
