After two years as a judge on American Idol, Steven Tyler returned to his first love, Aerosmith. But the "demon of screamin'" admits that he wishes he was still part of the panel on the Fox show...and that current judge Nicki Minaj was there with him.
Speaking to Australia's FasterLouder, Tyler says of Idol, "I miss it. I miss J-Lo and Randy [Jackson]. It was a hoot." He added, "Two years was beautiful. J-Lo loved it, I loved it, Randy was great, especially sitting next to J-Lo every night, being close to that fire. She's beautiful. I do miss it. I wish it was Randy, me and Nicki Minaj. It would've been a hoot."
But wait: Why would he want to be on a panel with Nicki? After all, last year, she publicly accused him of being a racist after he suggested that she would not have put Bob Dylan through if the rock legend auditioned for her. Well, it seems Steven thinks that fact would make for some great TV.
"I like Mariah [Carey], and I'm a big fan of Keith [Urban], but if you really think about it, you want some drama," he explains. "Put me in a room with Nicki. Put me in a room with Nicki!"
Aerosmith kicks off an Australian tour this Saturday night in Sydney.
