Paul McCartney is lending his support to Tony Bennett's Voices Against Violence campaign, which pushes for the passage of gun control laws.
Tony tweeted to his followers Wednesday morning that if they text "MYVOICE" to 877877, they will receive a pre-recorded phone message from Sir Paul. In the message, Paul says, "Tell a congressperson that you support common-sense laws that keeps guns out of the hands of the wrong people."
Gloria Estefan, Josh Groban and Alec Baldwin are among the other stars who are supporting the campaign.
Tony posted his McCartney tweet before the Senate defeated a bill that would have expanded background checks for gun buyers. He later tweeted, "The Senate voted against background checks, ignoring the will of the American people. We will not stop until our voices are heard."
