Bon Jovi Taps The J. Geils Band to Open Select Stadium Shows in July

AEG Live; Scoop MarketingBon Jovi will be joined by a very special guest at a handful of the group's U.S. stadium shows this summer.  The New Jersey rockers have announced that The J. Geils Band will open three of the scheduled concerts -- on July 12 at Soldier Field in Chicago, July 18 at Ford Field in Detroit and July 20 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

The performances currently are the only confirmed gigs on The J. Geils Band's schedule.  The Boston-based group, whose current lineup no longer features founding guitarist and namesake John Geils, has mounted a series of brief reunion tours over the last few years.

Bon Jovi, meanwhile, will wind down the current U.S. leg of their Because We Can tour on Thursday in San Jose, California.  They then will head overseas in early May for a couple of shows in South Africa before mounting a lengthy European trek that will run until early July.  Visit to find out all of the band's tour information.
