Cheap Trick Playing 35th Anniversary Budokan Concerts This Week

Cheap Trick UnlimitedJust reminder that Cheap Trick will be marking the 35th anniversary of their famous concerts at Tokyo's Budokan arena by playing a pair of special shows this week, tonight in New York City and on Tuesday in Los Angeles.  At each event, the power-pop legends will deliver the exact set they performed at their respective April 28 and April 30, 1978, concerts, which were recorded for the band's classic live album, Cheap Trick at Budokan.

Fans who won't be attending tonight's invite-only New York City show, which is taking place at the John Varvatos Bowery boutique, will still be able to watch the event for free online.  The concert will viewable live at starting at 7:50 p.m. ET.

Meanwhile, the L.A. gig, which will be held at the El Rey Theatre, also will air live -- on the AXS TV high-def television network.  The concert will begin at 11:30 p.m. ET.  In addition, Cheap Trick will be the musical guest Wednesday night on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, which airs at 11:35 p.m. ET/10:35 p.m. CT on NBC.
