Chickenfoot Guitarist Joe Satriani to Launch Solo Tour in August

Mad Ink PRJoe Satriani is hitting the road for a solo tour this summer.  The Chickenfoot guitarist has just announced a string of North American dates to support his upcoming album, Unstoppable Momentum, due out May 7.

The trek kicks off on August 29 at the Balboa Theatre in San Diego, and also will make stops Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Denver, Houston and New York, among other cities.  Joining Satriani on the road is Frank Zappa/Steve Vai keyboardist Mike Keneally, Dweezil Zappa/Dethklok bassist Bryan Beller, and Adrian Belew/Steve Wilson drummer Marco Minnemann.  Longtime Deep Purple guitarist Steve Morse and his solo backing band will open nearly all the dates on the tour.

Satriani is giving fans the chance to pre-order Unstoppable Momentum at his official website, and also is offering up a limited-edition, autographed 98-page art book. Titled Joe's Art 2013, the book features never-before-seen drawings, doodles and sketches by the guitar whiz.

"Some of my drawings have made their way on to guitars, straps and picks, LP and CD booklets, T-shirts, hats, key chains, etc. and even my live stage productions," says Satriani in a statement.  "This book represents my first effort to finally compile my oddly drawn friends into one place, a wildly colorful portfolio of sorts.  A collection of drawings meant to inspire and entertain."
