On April 5, 1994, Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain committed suicide at his home in Seattle, Washington. He was 27. To mark the solemn occasion, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer has posted online a number of previously-unreleased photos that were taken that day, just outside the greenhouse where Cobain’s body was found.
The photos feature police investigators examining the greenhouse, and members of the King County Medical Examiner’s staff carrying out Cobain’s body wrapped in plastic. The paper has also published photos of mourners at a public memorial for Cobain at Seattle Center on April 10, 1994.
In other Cobain news, filmmaker Brett Morgen, who recently directed the Rolling Stones documentary Crossfire Hurricane, is currently working on a documentary about the late singer. It's expected to be released sometime next year.
