Janet Jackson definitely knows how to keep a secret. Fans discovered that fact after she announced that she had married billionaire businessman Wissam Al Mana last year. Still, her big sister LaToya Jackson recently told reporters that not even the Jackson family knew of the nuptials.
"You know what? I didn't know Jan was married until I heard in the media," LaToya said while promoting her upcoming OWN docu-series, Life with LaToya, which premieres Saturday at 10:30 p.m. Eastern time. "No one really knew!"
Still, LaToya said she understood why her baby sister would keep such news under wraps. "It didn't bother me because I know that in my family a lot of times you keep things private because you don't want any one to know," she added.
LaToya's revelation that "no one" in the family knew, dispels rumors that Wissam flew Janet's family to the ceremony aboard private jets.
This is marriage number three for Janet, whose union with fellow singer James DeBarge was annulled in 1985. In 1991, she married dancer, songwriter and director Rene Elizondo Jr., but they kept their relationship a secret until their divorce in 2000.
