Among the 55 tracks featured on Elvis at Stax are a handful of singles that charted on the Billboard Hot 100 from 1973 through 1975, including "Raised on Rock" (#41), "I've Got a Thing About You Baby" (#39), "Promised Land" (#14), "If You Talk in Your Sleep" (#17) and "My Boy" (#20).

The set is broken into themed sections, with disc one featuring "The R&B and Country Sessions -- The Outtakes," disc two containing "The Pop Sessions -- The Outtakes" and "The July 1973 Masters" and disc three boasting "The December 1973 Masters."  The package also includes an in-depth essay by respected Memphis-based music journalist Robert Gordon that recounts what happened each day of the sessions.
