Even Rihanna has days when she's not feeling so "Phresh Off the Runway." That's why her 2013 summer collection for River Island includes items that are perfect for days when she's feeling chic, sexy, flirty or even a little bloated.
"I needed to make clothes for fat days that I have," Rihanna says in a behind the scenes video featuring her latest line of River Island threads. "I just wanted stuff that I wanna wear, because at the end of the day, that's what got me into designing. Seeing stuff on the rack that were great, but it coulda been a little more me."
With that in mind, Rihanna is rolling out new jackets, tops, dresses and more, that will be available May 25. "I made a piece for everybody in my crew. We all have different body types, different tastes, and some are braver than others," Rih says. "I think like that because that's how women in the world are. We're all different, we all like different things, we all have different occasions and different moods and different body types."
Now on her second River Island collection, Rihanna says she's learned a ton. She helped choose fabrics, and is pretty excited about some cotton dresses that she'll "live in." Her selections include floral patterns, which she was very particular about. "I didn't want it to be typical floral, bright colored. I wanted it to be gangsta. Still a little muted. That you could wear it with rock and roll stuff," she says.
In the video, Rihanna also shows off a t-shirt featuring her own image, as captured by her pal Melissa Forde.
