A Chicago man was arrested early this morning in Westerly, RI near Taylor Swift's recently purchased mansion by the beach. Lucas H. Vorsteveld was walking on a private road when he was approached by a Westerly police officer at about 2:15 a.m. ET. Vorsteveld, 22, told the officer he was just out for a walk and admitted he did not have a residence in Westerly, according to the Westerly Police Department.
Vorsteveld was taken into custody and charged with trespassing. He was released from jail with a summons to face the charge in court on May 24.
Some reports claimed Vorsteveld swam up to the area near Swift's property, but that detail was not included in the Westerly Police's public report on the arrest.
