Chris Daughtry auditioned for a tiny role in last year's summer blockbuster The Dark Knight Rises. It didn't work out, but that doesn't mean the Daughtry frontman has abandoned his dream of silver screen stardom. The singer recently revealed on Twitter than while he's been working on material for the next Daughtry album, he's also been honing his acting skills.
"While in LA, every morning before my writing sessions, I've been taking acting classes w/[Marjorie Ballentine]," he tweeted. "She is INCREDIBLE & I'm learning so much!"
Ballentine is an acting coach whose clients include Gary Oldman -- perhaps not coincidentally, he plays Commissioner Gordon in the Batman films. Her other clients include Krysten Ritter of Don’t Trust the B- in Apt. 23, actor and comedian Mario Cantone and even another former American Idol alum: Lisa Tucker, who was top 10 with Chris on season five.
Chris already made his TV acting debut, by the way: he had a role on an episode of CSI: NY a few years back. Last year, he told ABC News Radio that his dream role is as "a bad guy, or something that would require some fighting and maybe me getting my face kicked in by Vin Diesel."
