Rihanna's upcoming Styled to Rock reality competition series will feature another fashion-forward entertainer: Pharrell Williams. In addition to producing and performing hit records, Pharrell is co-founder of Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream clothing lines, and he's collaborated on items for Louis Vuitton, Moncler and more.
He'll share his expertise as a mentor on Styled to Rock, which will follow executive producer Rihanna as she searches for the next rockstar designer. Television viewers will be introduced to 12 ambitious designers, who will be challenged to create unique fashion pieces for A-list stars.
Styled to Rock's celebrity guest-of-the-week will decide whose creation best achieves their vision, and the designers who fall short will eventually be sent home. The remaining designers will meet with the show's three mentors to discuss their work, and by season's end, one designer will walk away the winner.
Rihanna's new show is slated to premiere later this year on the Style network, and Style Media President Salaam Coleman Smith says in a statement, "Pharrell's unique aesthetic and commitment to individuality combined with Rihanna's vision for this series will enable our aspiring designers to hone their craft and learn from the very people who set the trends."
