Slayer is giving fans the chance to say goodbye to founding guitarist Jeff Hanneman, who died May 2 of alcohol-related cirrhosis of the liver.
In a posting on their Facebook page, Slayer reveals that a Jeff Hanneman Memorial Celebration will take place on Thursday, May 23 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. PT. The event will be free and open to fans of all ages on a first-come, first-in basis.
Hanneman, who had been taking time off from the band since 2011 for an unrelated medical condition, was 49.
