Guitar Played by Lennon and Harrison Fetches $408K at Auction

Darren Julien with guitar; guitar once played by John Lennon and his Beatles band mate George Harrison sold at auction over the weekend for 408 thousand dollars.

The VOX guitar, featured in a Julien's Auctions sale in New York, was played by Lennon while recording a video for "Hello, Goodbye." Harrison used it to practice "I Am The Walrus" during the making of The Magical Mystery Tour project.

The instrument had been displayed in Ireland, the U.K. and New York prior to Saturday's sale.
