Chris Daughtry Thrilled with Tweet from Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson

Image Courtesy Chris Daughtry via TwitterThese days, Chris Daughtry seems to spends almost as much time working out as he does making music, so he was gratified the other day to get a thumbs-up from one of his fitness idols: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

While working out, Chris tweeted a photo of himself to The Rock, and wrote, "Yo @TheRock! You've inspired me to hit it HARD! This one's for you bro! AGGGHHHH!!!"  The photo showed him flexing his quite impressive pecs and biceps while making an extremely scary face.

Imagine his surprise when The Rock responded, tweeting back, "Animal! I know the hard [work] & discipline you're putting in Chris! Keep kicking ass brother and inspiring masses."  He added the hashtag "#HardWorkPays."

A flattered Chris wrote back, "Wow! Thanks brother! Who knows, maybe we can kick some together on screen:)."  Chris revealed not long ago that he's been taking acting lessons in hopes of scoring a role in an upcoming movie.

Of course, music is still Chris' first love.  He recently spent 10 days in Los Angeles writing songs for the next Daughtry album, and the group kicks off another leg of their tour with 3 Doors Down in July.
