Florida Georgia Line's debut album, Here's to the Good Times, hits the #1 spot on Billboard's Country Albums chart this week for the first time. The project debuted 28 weeks ago at the #3 position. Florida Georgia Line sold 33,000 copies this past week, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
The last country artist to hit #1 after debuting lower on the chart was Jason Aldean with My Kinda Party. That album went to the top 14 weeks following its release after bowing at #2. Taylor Swift's self-titled debut album took 39 weeks to get to #1 on Billboard's Country Albums chart. It stayed there for 24 weeks, though.
In addition to Florida Georgia Line's album going to #1, Here's to the Good Times has also been certified gold in the U.S. and Canada. The group's monster hit, "Cruise," has now been certified four-times platinum.
