Last week, it was revealed that Abercrombie & Fitch had pulled a tee shirt that mocked Taylor Swift from its shelves after fans protested. Now, a t-shirt printing business in Rhode Island has landed in hot water over a completely different tee that mocks Taylor.
According to GoLocalProv.com, Kevin Adams, the owner of J. Mack Studios t-shirt business, has been asked by Taylor's reps to stop selling a tee he created that pictures the star. The shirt features a photo of Taylor making her "surprised face," along with the slogan, "OMG!!! Watch Hill!?!?" That's a reference to the fact that Taylor recently spent a reported $7 million on a beachfront mansion in the affluent Rhode Island coastal village of Watch Hill.
"It was not supposed to be a big deal," Adams tells the website. "It was supposed to be something fun." Adams explains that he was simply trying to illustrate the thrill the locals felt at the news that Taylor had chosen their community to purchase a home in.
"My intention with this shirt was not to make money. It was simply to have fun and acknowledge her as our neighbor. It’s exciting to have her around here," he explains.
But some folks in the area haven't been too thrilled about Taylor's presence, reports the website. Apparently, her property borders a spot that's popular with surfers and teens, but it's become more difficult to access because of all the increased security.
