Though Taylor Swift is currently touring the U.S. in support of her most recent album, Red, she’s already in the preliminary stages of putting together her next disc.
Taylor tells Rolling Stone that the “floodgates just opened the last couple weeks” as far as her writing new material is concerned. She elaborates, "I'm getting to that point where I'm irritating to be around because I'll be with you for half the conversation and then the second half of the conversation I'm clearly editing the second verse of whatever I'm writing in my head."
Taylor says that her goal is always to take a different approach to each one of her albums. She says, “If you're willing to become a different version of yourself, you can really go anywhere with it. And that's kind of where I am. The kind of the laboratory experimental stage of really catching onto a new thing that I'm liking."
Unfortunately, Taylor wouldn't reveal to Rolling Stone the “new thing” that she’s embraced.
Taylor did allow that she has some people in mind with whom she’d like to collaborate, following the success she experienced with pop super-producer Max Martin, among others, on Red. She says she has a “really long list” of people she admires and to whom she’d like to reach out.
