Marc Anthony Responds to Criticism of His All-Star Game Performance of "God Bless America" Anthony performed “God Bless America” at the Major League Baseball All-Star Game in New York City earlier this week. Immediately he was subjected to criticism from some people on Twitter who wondered why a foreign-born person was singing the song.

They apparently did not realize that while Marc is of Puerto Rican descent, he grew up in the U.S.

Marc addressed his Twitter critics on Thursday’s edition of Live! with Kelly and Michael. Mistakenly referring to his performance of the “national anthem,” he reaffirmed, “I was born and raised in New York and you can’t get more New York than me.”
