Toby Keith's "Red Solo Cup" Was Almost a Duet with Jimmy Buffett

Mailboat RecordsToby Keith just released his duet with Jimmy Buffett, "Too Drunk to Karaoke," but it's actually Toby's second attempt at recording with the "Margaritaville" singer.  Back in 2011, Toby approached Jimmy about turning a little song called "Red Solo Cup" into a duet.  It never happened, and Toby went on to score a big hit with the song.

Toby is thrilled to finally have a duet with Jimmy available for fans. He tells the Quad City Times, "To me, to work with Jimmy Buffett is a feather in my hat. I think the guy's brilliant in what he does."

Toby adds that Jimmy is one of his main musical influences along with country icons Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard. The video for "Too Drunk to Karaoke" is now on
