Dustin Lynch grew up helping his dad race cars back home in Tennessee, so he should feel right at home performing at the pre-race concert prior to this Sunday's Brickyard 400. This race takes place at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, which is a little nicer than the dirt road tracks where Dustin's father competed.
Looking back on his childhood, Dustin says, "Most of my weeks were out in the shop helping him get ready for the weekend races and then the weekends I was scraping mud from his car or spottin’ for him or doing anything I could to help out in the pits. So racing’s in my blood."
Surprisingly, Dustin has never been to a big NASCAR race before this one, so he's just as excited about seeing the race as he is about performing for the fans. Both of those experiences give Dustin a similar high anyway.
He explains, "That’s why us race fans go to races. That’s why we as musicians love to be on stage. It’s that adrenaline you can’t get anywhere else, that high and that rush you can’t buy anywhere else."
Justin Moore and Cassadee Pope are also performing at the Brickyard 400 this weekend.
