Anna Kendrick's hit "Cups (When I'm Gone)," from the movie Pitch Perfect, has reached #9 on the Billboard Hot 100, and that means that the actress now has something in common with none other than Barbra Streisand.
According to Billboard, Streisand and Kendrick are the only two people ever to have scored a top 10 hit AND Academy Award and Tony nominations for acting.
Kendrick was nominated for an Oscar in 2009 for her role in Up in the Air, and for a Tony in 1998 for her role in the musical High Society. As for Streisand, she's of course, racked up many top 10s -- a dozen, in fact. She won the 1968 Best Actress Oscar for Funny Girl and was nominated again in 1974 for The Way We Were. She was also nominated for two Tony Awards, in 1962 and 1964.
Of course, there have been many other Oscar nominees who've scored top 10 hits -- Cher, Diana Ross, Bette Midler, Jamie Foxx, Eddie Murphy, Frank Sinatra, Will Smith, John Travolta and Mark Wahlberg among them. But none of them have ever been nominated for a Tony in the acting category. So there.
