Fans of Chicago will soon get to see the band make a cameo appearance in the upcoming HBO film Clear History, which stars and was co-written by Curb Your Enthusiasm mastermind Larry David. The movie, which premieres on August 10, tells the story of a man who starts his life over with a new identity after a bad business decision leaves him in financial ruins.
Chicago is featured in a scene at a concert arena that's part of the plot because a character portrayed by Oscar-nominated actress Amy Ryan is supposed to be a huge fan of the group. In addition, the band's classic hit "25 or 6 to 4" can be heard on the trailer for the comedy flick.
Among the many other stars who appear in the film are Jon Hamm, Michael Keaton, Kate Hudson, Eva Mendes, Danny McBride, Bill Hader and J.B. Smoove. Encore screenings of Clear History will take place on HBO throughout August, and the film also will be shown on HBO2. Log on to HBO.com for more information.
Meanwhile, to celebrate Chicago's Clear History cameo, the band is offering a special digital audio package at its online store that features five renditions of "25 or 6 to 4" for only $1.59. 25 or 6 to 4 (Time Capsule 2013 A.D.) includes versions of the tune recorded by Chicago in 1970, 1986, 2009 and 2012, as well as a 2012 dance remix on which the group collaborated with producer John Van Eps, aka JVE.
