Dierks Bentley and His Dog, Jake, Take Over "The View" Bentley co-hosted ABC's The View Friday, and his beloved dog Jake was right by his side for the opening panel. Since the show was dog-themed, Dierks brought his own mixed-breed pup with him. The trip to New York City turned out to be Jake's first time flying on an airplane.

Dierks explained on the show, "One of our favorite airlines was nice enough to get him a seat on the plane, and had his own water."

Dierks also showed a picture of Jake going through security at the airport. He said, "[Jake] even had to go through the pat down process just like all of us."

The ladies of The View also asked the different breeds in Jake's background.  Dierks admitted Jake is one-half spitz and the other half one-night-stand.  "It was a wild night, and this is the result of it," Dierks said looking at Jake.

Dierks performed his brand-new single, "I Hold On," at the end of the show.  That song is inspired by Dierks' way of holding on to old things like his white Chevy truck and his old guitar.  It will be included on his new album Riser, due out this fall.
