fun. will be rocking the White House on July 4 -- or at least its South Lawn. The band will be performing a special USO show there Thursday, and more than 1,200 troops and military families will be attending, as well as President and Mrs. Obama.
"Performing a USO concert for troops and their families at the White House on Independence Day is a tremendous honor for us,” says frontman Nate Ruess in a statement. "We can’t thank our nation’s men and women in uniform enough for what they do for us every day, and we’re thrilled to have the privilege of performing for them on this special night."
This isn't the first time that fun. has performed for the president. The group was one of many top acts who played at the two official Inaugural Balls earlier this year.
The White House Salute to the Military USO concert will be streamed live on Thursday at 8:10 p.m. ET at WhiteHouse.gov.
