For the first time in the band's history, Metallica is heading to the San Diego Comic-Con. The band has announced that they'll be making an appearance at the event to promote their upcoming 3D concert film, Metallica Through the Never.
Metallica will participate in a panel discussion about the flick, along with actor Dane DeHaan, director/writer Nimrod Antal and producer Charlotte Huggins. During their appearance, the group also will screen the new theatrical trailer for Metallica Through the Never, as well as some exclusive footage from the movie. Metallica's Comic-Con appearance will take place on July 19 in Hall H at the San Diego Convention Center from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m.
If that isn't enough to get you out to Comic-Con, the band has also revealed that they will be performing a concert at a "super-secret" spot somewhere near the event following their discussion. Details will be revealed about their secret show in the coming weeks.
Through the Never will premiere exclusively at every IMAX theater across North America for a full week starting September 27. After the flick has its run in the IMAX theaters, it will expand into additional theaters starting October 4.
