Cissy Houston has reached out to her granddaughter, Bobbi Kristina, in an effort to repair their relationship.
Whitney Houston's daughter publicly took issue with Cissy following the release of the latter's book, Remembering Whitney, earlier this year, because it addressed the legendary singer's drug problems and her roller-coaster marriage to Bobby Brown, Bobby Kristina's dad.
In an open letter obtained by The Hollywood Reporter and other outlets, Cissy says she hopes her granddaughter will one day read the book and "understand that I just wanted to let the world see some of My Nippy," referring to Whitney's nickname.
However, Cissy also hints that she disapproves of Bobbi Kristina's recent engagement to Nick Gordon, the boy whom Whitney watched over. She writes, "Do I want you to get married in the near future? No, I don't. I think you're too young and I wish you'd wait. But that's because I'm Grandma."
