After kicking off their 2013 tour itinerary with a series of Australian dates, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are set to begin 2014 the same way. The New Jersey rockers have announced a new trek that will see them pay a return visit to the Land Down Under in the late winter.
Seven shows have been confirmed, with the tour getting under way February 7 in Perth and stopping in five other Australian cities before winding down on March 1 in Auckland, New Zealand.
"Our shows in Australia earlier this year were among the very best and most satisfying of our whole 128-show tour," says longtime Springsteen manager Jon Landau in a statement. "The crowds were tremendous [and] the fans as warm, friendly, and welcoming as we could ever hope for."
Landau also reveals that Bruce and his band had been planning to come back to Australia as soon as the last outing there wrapped up at the end of March, adding that the upcoming trek "will be our most far-reaching tour of Australasia ever."
First up for Springsteen and company is a four-concert trip to South America in September that, as previously reported, will mark the end of their 2012-2013 Wrecking Ball Tour. The final show of the trek will be their September 21 appearance at the Rock in Rio Festival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
