Stephen Stills' new blues-rock supergroup, The Rides, are among the artists who will be featured on the upcoming second season of American Public Television's live-performance series Front and Center. Each episode of the one-hour show is filmed in high-definition and features a different music act playing a set at one of a handful of New York City venues.
This season of Front and Center will premiere in late September; check local listings. The Rides' performance, which will be captured at New York's famed jazz club The Iridium, is the last of the series' nine episodes scheduled for broadcast, although no airdate has been confirmed for the show.
Other artists set to appear on Front and Center include blues legend Buddy Guy, pop-rock stars Train, ex-Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Zakk Wylde with the Les Paul Trio, singer/songwriter Jack Johnson, and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band.
The Rides, which also features Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Electric Flag keyboardist Barry Goldberg, will release their debut album, Can't Get Enough, on August 27. The band kicks off a U.S. tour with an August 28-29 engagement at The Iridium.
