This should be a happy time for Lady Gaga, what with the recent release of "Applause" and the debut of ARTPOP on the horizon. But Gaga is engaged in a very heated Twitter feud with gossip blogger and former friend Perez Hilton, who's been less than supportive of her new single.
It all started to escalate on Friday, when Gaga alleged, "Still have the text Perez sent me of me in a wheelchair w the words KARMA written across + Madonna pointing a gun at me. Day of my accident." She was, of course, referring to her hip injury.
Gaga subsequently warned her fans not to attack Perez verbally, tweeting, "Please monsters do not be affected by someone like this NOTHING merits this kind of hatred. Im ok & I always survive. Ignore him. Just Dance."
However, that didn't stop Little Monsters from letting Perez know how upset they were, with one person writing to him, "killing you."
Things got even more tense on Sunday, when a fan on Twitter told Gaga that Perez was in the singer's apartment building. After Gaga wrote that she received confirmation that Perez was there, she tweeted to him in all caps, "STAY AWAY FROM ME + MY FAMILY YOU ARE SICK TRYING TO RENT AN APARTMENT IN MY BUILDING TO STALK ME. LEAVE ME ALONE!!!"
She added, "DO I NEED TO BE SHOT IT IN THE HEAD FOR PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND THAT HIM AND EVERYONE ELSE THAT HARASSES ME HAS GONE TOO FAR? IM A HUMAN BEING."
Perez responded with a statement on his website, which reads in part, "While it is still too painful for me to go into detail about why I chose to no longer make her a part of my life, I will say that I am a critic and not a 'stalker.' Any allegation that I am stalking her, based on a day of house hunting with my baby boy and my mother, is utterly false, defamatory and now appears to be putting me and my family in danger."
The statement seemed to infuriate Gaga even more. She tweeted to Perez, "YOU ARE A LIAR I KEPT EVERY PSYCHOTIC TEXT U SENT TO MY PHONE. I NEVER RESPONDED+NOW YOU'VE STALKED MY HOME. BOY WHO CRIED WOLF."
Gaga also refused to stop discussing the matter publicly: "I've been quiet for a long time, not this time."
However, Gaga did later advise her fans again to back off and not send "negativity" on Twitter.
