The 2013 CMA Awards nominees were announced Tuesday morning, and a few of the finalists started partying as soon as they got the good news.
Little Big Town was on a plane when they found out about their three nominations, including Album of the Year for Tornado. The band tweeted, "Just heard INCREDIBLE news about our #CMA nominations! This plane's about to be a big 'ol party!"
Brett Eldredge woke up to a ton of missed calls and text messages Tuesday morning. He tweeted, "I had no idea why..Turns out I was nominated for CMA New Artist of the year! What!? Thanks CMA!"
Florida Georgia Line co-hosted the CMA Awards nominations announcement with Sheryl Crow in New York City, and they were very excited to hear Sheryl announce their name four times, including a mention in the Single of the Year category for "Cruise." So, which of those four nods means the most to FGL?
The duo's Tyler Hubbard tells ABC News Radio, "Duo of the Year is a big one for us, and Single of the Year is big. I don't know. It's just any award is great, and we're excited to be involved with country music and the awards for sure."
Kip Moore got a New Artist of the Year nomination just weeks after scoring his third consecutive #1 hit, "Hey Pretty Girl." He's now putting the finishing touches on his upcoming sophomore album. Says Kip, "I'm truly honored to be up for the CMA's New Artist Of The Year Award. I have to admit…this is also a little extra inspiration for us as we finish up the next album!"
Kacey Musgraves was honored with six CMA nominations, including Album of the Year for Same Trailer Different Park, Female Vocalist of the Year and Single and Song of the Year for "Merry Go 'Round." That song went to country radio a year ago this week and ended up hitting the top 10.
"I'm honestly so humbled right now thinking about this past year and how greatly country music has embraced that song and me," Kacey says. "The love I'm feeling from these nominations is something that I could have never expected and I couldn't be more thankful and overwhelmed in this moment."
Kip and Kacey will head out with Vocal Group and Video of the Year nominees Lady Antebellum on the Take Me Downtown tour in November. Lady A's Charles Kelley tweeted, "So excited to have a couple CMA nominations. and how about our opening acts Kip and Kacey with huge nominations, we know how to pick em."
The 47th Annual CMA Awards broadcast live from Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on ABC Wednesday, November 6 at 8 p.m. ET. Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood return as hosts.
