Sting Announces Special Show in Austin, Texas, in Conjunction with Grand Prix Auto Race

Photo: Patti HintonSting has scheduled a special one-off concert that will take place in Austin, Texas, on November 16 as part of the festivities being held in conjunction with the 2013 Formula 1 United States Grand Prix race.  The former Police frontman will perform for just 2,100 people at the intimate ACL Live at The Moody Theater.

Tickets for the show will go on sale starting this Friday at 10 a.m. CT at  Prices range from $250 for balcony seats to $750 for lounge-floor packages.

For the second consecutive year, the United States Grand Prix will take place at Austin's Circuit of The Americas racing facility.  In celebration of the event, which is scheduled for November 17, the city will offer a variety of activities and attractions before and during that weekend, including music performances, interactive games and exhibits, an action sports area and local food concessions.

"Circuit of The Americas is thrilled to invite an internationally acclaimed artist like Sting to be part our second Grand Prix celebration," says Steve Sexton, the racing track's president and CEO.  "Sting's rich body of work and magnetic stage presence will make for an unforgettable performance."
