Christina Aguilera is once again teaming up with Yum! Brands, the parent company of KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell, to fight hunger. She's filmed a new public service announcement for the company's World Hunger Relief campaign, and will also appear in advertising and on posters, all to be released this fall.
The 30-second clip features footage of the singer’s recent trip to Rwanda where she served food to hungry kids, and spent time at a refugee camp talking with mothers and children about how they escaped violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The public service announcement also features a snippet of “Light Up the Sky,” a bonus track from her 2012 album, Lotus.
In a statement, The Voice coach says, “I’m deeply moved by the many hungry mothers and children that I met in Rwanda. My goal with Yum! Brands’ World Hunger Relief is to inspire as many people as possible to donate to the cause and move millions of children from hunger to hope. It’s important for people to know that for just 25 cents a day, we can feed a child in school and be part of the solution.”
Christina also serves as an “Ambassador Against Hunger” for the World Food Programme, and has traveled on relief trips to Haiti and Guatemala with the organization.
